Chapter 095: Cai Yuyao Lends a Hand
At Cheng Li’s words, Lin Luyou froze.
Just outside the door, she had clearly not said that. Even last week, when Lin Luyou raised the same question, Cheng Li had answered, “That’s a good idea. I hadn’t considered that.”
How had she changed her mind so suddenly in such a short time?
“And you?” After Cheng Li finished, Tang Xiao gave no special reaction. Instead, she asked Lin Luyou the same question.
“I…” Lin Luyou lingered on the word for a long time, but nothing came after it.
“Forget it. Sit down and look at the data first.” Tang Xiao waved them on, urging them to get moving. “In half an hour, I want a solution.”
After that, the meeting room sank into a heavy silence. Only the sounds of typing and breathing remained, making the whole scene painfully awkward.
The data Gu Yao had left behind was actually quite complete, covering everything from brand and product dimensions to category dimensions.
To find the root of the problem, Lin Luyou decided to go through every table first and then identify any abnormal data. With that in mind, she rolled up her sleeves and got to work.
“I heard you ran into trouble?”
At that moment, there was a knock at the door. Cai Yuyao stood there with her arms folded, looking very much like she had come to enjoy the show.
“I say, if you’re here to help, then help. If you’re here to watch, go stand somewhere cooler.” Tang Xiao shot her a sideways glance, as sharp as if she had swallowed gunpowder, and said sourly.
“Hey, I came down to help at your request, and that’s the attitude you give me?” Cai Yuyao grumbled, but still obediently sat down beside Tang Xiao. “Move over. Give me some room.”
“So, what’s the situation?”
The data Gu Yao had received was the version her team lead, Ding Tongyu, had completed and handed directly to Liu Enming. So as to what exactly had gone wrong with those figures, Cai Yuyao knew no more than the others.
After looking at the data, Cai Yuyao was also stunned. “No way. It’s actually performing worse than the public version? By all rights, your scoring logic shouldn’t have a problem!”
“Right. We discussed that logic with Daming beforehand, and he agreed to it. So I think the problem must lie somewhere else.”
Hearing this, Cai Yuyao asked again, “Then do you have any ideas yet? How are you planning to tackle it?”
“We’re still thinking. For now, we’re going to go through all the numbers again and start with the anomalies.”
Tang Xiao did not have a better plan either, so she could only take it one step at a time.
“Then I suggest you pull out all the products first and compare them one by one. Since I happen to have some free time, I can help you layer these dimensions together. Maybe that will do some good.”
That was all they could do.
Following Tang Xiao’s instructions, Lin Luyou and Cheng Li each took half the products and began comparing them item by item.
Because the product-selection logic was different, even though the target users were all people in their sixties and older, the senior product pool and the public version were more than half different.
With half the products not matching, how was she supposed to compare them?
Lin Luyou could not help feeling a headache coming on.
Never mind. Let me hope I’m the blind cat that just happens to bump into a dead mouse.
With that thought, Lin Luyou first picked out the products that appeared in both pools. But halfway through, another thought struck her: if I only look at the same products, how am I supposed to know where the lost traffic and customers went?
What a colossal headache.
