Cheng Li had followed on her own initiative.

But since it had taken her two whole days over the weekend to finally seize this opportunity, there was no way she would reveal it to Lin Luyou so easily.

After being rebuffed by Cheng Li, Lin Luyou slunk back to her seat, disappointed. Since she couldn't get the answer, she might as well continue reading her posts.

No sooner had she sat down than Tang Xiao and Yang Tianqi returned, still deep in discussion.

Once Tang Xiao had settled her belongings and taken her seat, Lin Luyou, remembering what she’d been told, said to her,

"Xiaoxiao, someone from the user operations team was looking for you earlier. She saw you weren’t here and asked you to go find her when you return."

"Oh, you must mean Gu Yao," Tang Xiao glanced at Lin Luyou, then continued, "We bumped into her in the meeting room earlier and already talked."

The person who left the message hadn’t mentioned their name, so Lin Luyou wasn’t sure if this Gu Yao was the one she’d seen.

As she pondered this, Tan Fang, Su Zhenxin, and He Suzhen came back, still engaged in lively debate. They didn’t return to their seats but stood in the aisle, each voicing their opinions.

Lin Luyou kept her ears perked up, trying to catch their discussion. It seemed they were still talking about last week’s proposal to improve the product rating system. She wanted to join in, but, having no new ideas on the topic, could only "eavesdrop" from a few seats away.

A while later, Chen Xujia returned as well. She glanced twice at the trio still debating in the aisle before heading to her seat.

"Tianqi, did we book a meeting room?"

Yang Tianqi paused, then shook her head. "Not yet. Should I book one now?"

Chen Xujia thought for a moment, then shook her head and called over to the three, "You three, settle down! Let’s just have a quick meeting here at our desks."

At the department meeting earlier, the leaders had assigned them plenty of tasks. After being broken down thoroughly, these tasks had finally landed on their secondary and tertiary departments.

Masse was now the fourth largest e-commerce platform in the country, still surging ahead. But according to their internal data, their market share had stabilized; growth rates had declined for several consecutive months.

In response, the top leaders shifted their focus from acquiring new customers to retaining existing ones. Thus, at this stage, "reawakening dormant customers and reducing customer churn" became a key task for the operations department.

"At the meeting just now, someone from user operations raised a similar point. But they mentioned something I think is quite essential." Chen Xujia turned a page in her notebook and continued, "The market is only so big. Besides keeping old customers and trying to snatch the 'cake' from other platforms, we need to look beyond the cake itself. Their solution is to expand our customer base and actively reach out to the post-sixties and fifties generations."

At this, Lin Luyou's eyes lit up, admiring whoever had come up with the idea. She’d heard similar theories in class: when a path is blocked or the market saturates, you must seek new avenues and niche markets. The two ideas were strikingly akin.

"So what are we supposed to do? Keep working on the product pool?" Tan Fang, impatient as ever, asked directly.

"Yes. Looks like Xiaoxiao has already made contact with the user operations team, so you’ll keep leading this project," Chen Xujia replied.

Tang Xiao nodded and made a note.

"And your current tasks… are you just wrapping things up now? Focus on this new assignment; management wants to push it during the big promotion. If you can’t handle everything, ask Tianqi for help."

Tang Xiao shook her head, indicating that the previous project only had a few remaining tasks and she could manage both.

Lin Luyou glanced around, then tentatively raised her hand.
