Chapter 6: Should We Have a Child? (6)
Her face was flushed a deep crimson, yet her heart was gripped by a profound fear; she feared the pain, and she feared him.
To Leng Mohan, her flustered state was nothing short of adorable. He leaned in and nipped lightly at her small nose. Lin Yan’s eyes widened in sudden alarm.
Leng Mohan curled his lips into a perfect smile, his kisses trailing down the bridge of her nose until his cool, thin lips finally pressed against hers.
It was a sensation both strange and vaguely familiar, echoing that night of their wedding, yet somehow different. Lin Yan felt like a fish gasping for water, parched and longing for more, yet simultaneously desiring to remain in that state of drought. The internal conflict between her heart and her body’s reactions turned her mind into a muddled haze.
At some point, her clothes had been shed entirely. The pale moonlight spilled over the pile of discarded garments on the floor, imbuing the room with an air of seductive enchantment.
When something hard forced its way between her thighs, Lin Yan was so overcome with shyness that she didn't react at first. She reached out to push the object away, but the moment her hand made contact, the reality of the situation dawned on her. Her face burned even hotter, and she began to struggle, only for her mother-in-law’s words from that afternoon to echo in her ears.
It was time to give the Leng family a child. Sighing, Lin Yan ceased her resistance. She knit her brows tightly, bracing herself to endure the tearing pain she expected to follow.
But Leng Mohan, who had been burning with passion just moments before, suddenly halted all movement. Though the fire of desire had not yet faded from his eyes, he looked down at her and asked, "What is the matter with you?"
Lin Yan opened her eyes to look at him, a desperate, reckless courage shining through. Her voice trembled from the intensity of their kisses as she replied, "Nothing at all."
Leng Mohan’s lips curved slightly. His fingers traced the line of her waist, sliding down her back to rest on her firm, rounded hips. The silk-like smoothness of her skin beneath his hand made it even harder for him to contain himself. He was never a man ruled by lust, and his self-control was usually impeccable, but now, he could barely stop himself from taking her by force. Still, considering her inexperience, he held back, enduring the ache again and again.
He shifted his lips from hers to the slender column of her neck, sucking gently. In the midst of their intoxicating haze, Lin Yan gasped, "I have taken Mother’s words to heart. I will... I will do what a daughter-in-law is supposed to do."
Leng Mohan, who had been busy at her neck, suddenly froze. A chill washed over him, and the desire that had consumed his body receded like a retreating tide.
Supporting himself on his hands above her, he looked down and asked coldly, "Only because Mother wants a grandchild?"
Lin Yan looked at him, bewildered, her eyes still clouded with lingering passion. She murmured, "Grandfather... wants a great-grandchild, too."
Leng Mohan felt a profound sense of defeat. His body went limp, and he collapsed heavily onto her. Lin Yan panted, pushing at him weakly with her hands. "Move over, you’re so heavy. You're crushing me."
With a sudden roll, he lay down beside her, drawing her entire body into his embrace with a long arm. Their naked forms fit together with startling harmony, the softness of her chest pressed against him, causing his breathing to grow heavy once more—yet that was all. He made no further move.
Lin Yan, completely unable to grasp the situation, could only stare at him in a daze.
"Go to sleep," Leng Mohan said, gently covering her eyes with his hand.
Lin Yan blinked, momentarily stunned. Seeing that he had already closed his eyes, his arms and legs wrapped tightly around her, his breathing steady as if he were drifting off to sleep, she reached out and poked his chest. The solid muscles made her finger ache, and she could only think, *How incredibly firm.*
