Jiang Yun opened the online streaming platform and searched for “Happy Camp.” There were still three hours left until 8:20 p.m., and the live broadcast room was shrouded in darkness.

Jiang Yun decided to watch episode five of “The Life We Long For” to pass the time.

Watching himself on camera in his usual state, Jiang Yun couldn’t help but tease himself: “Why do I look so silly?”

Knock, knock, knock!

“Come in!”

“Boss, it’s six o’clock. You can clock out now!”

“Time flies!”

Jiang Yun shut down his computer, picked up his suit jacket, put it on, and with a dignified and elegant air, looked every bit the refined young gentleman.

Li Lulu drove Jiang Yun and Mao Yi to Red Romance Barbecue House, where the three enjoyed beer and grilled food together.

By the time Jiang Yun returned home, it was already 8:00 p.m.

He turned on the television and, after a few minutes of commercials, “Happy Camp” officially began.

The show opened with Mao Yi singing “Someone Like Me,” accompanied by a dance performance.

Someone as outstanding as me
Should have lived a brilliant life…

Someone as timid as me
Always holds back a little in everything.
How did I ever, for someone,
Think of risking everything?

When the performance ended, He Ling and Xie Wei appeared on stage, along with Wu Xin, Li Jia, and Du Haichao.

He Ling, holding a microphone, said, “Welcome, everyone, to ‘Happy Camp,’ airing every Saturday at 8:20 p.m. sharp. This program is proudly sponsored by XX Mobile.”

Xie Wei, glancing at the cue cards, read the sponsor’s line: “XX Mobile—great quality, high sales, and crystal-clear night photos!”

“Let’s welcome our guest for this episode, Mao Yi!”

The stage lights flashed as Mao Yi walked up.

“Wang Jihong!”

A tall, lean young man with sharp features stepped onto the stage.

“Guan Tong!”

Guan Tong joined the group on stage.

“Ouyang Na!”

“Teacher Wang Lan!”

Wang Lan and Ouyang Na walked up.

Three women and two men, plus the five hosts—that made five men and five women in total.

He Ling, holding the microphone, announced, “Today, we’ll split into a boys’ team and a girls’ team for a competition.”

“Everyone, think of a team name first!”

The five hosts started discussing team names.

Xie Wei asked, “Have you made up your mind?”

“We have!” Li Jia replied.

“What’s your team called?”

“We are…”

All five of Mao Yi’s team declared in unison, “The Dazzling Boys!”

“Boo—” Xie Wei’s team responded with playful jeers.

“And what about your team?” Du Haichao asked.

“We’re called…”

“The Ice Queen Squad!”

“Boo—” Now it was Du Haichao’s team’s turn to jeer.

The hosts exchanged a few more jokes, and the show officially began.

“First round: Who’s the Mole?”

“Everyone will receive a secret identity. You’ll each give a description based on that identity, but not too revealing—otherwise, the mole might catch on. After everyone speaks, you’ll vote to eliminate the person you suspect is the mole. Whoever gets the most votes is out. If three people are left and the mole hasn’t been found, the mole wins.”

“If the mole’s team wins, they get one point!”

He Ling, microphone in hand, continued, “Let’s begin the first round: Who’s the Mole!”

“Staff, please distribute the identity cards.”

A lovely staff member walked onstage with the cards and handed them out.

Nine people received “durian,” but Mao Yi got “stinky tofu.”

“Let’s start the first round of descriptions.”

Xie Wei spoke first: “This thing smells awful but tastes amazing!”

“Next!”

“It’s true. It’s okay to eat occasionally, not too much, but it’s really good in desserts!”

Mao Yi thought to himself, Stinky tofu in desserts? That can’t be right. He realized he must be the mole.

When it was Mao Yi’s turn, he responded, “Some people don’t like this, but personally I’m quite fond of it.”

He gave himself a mental pat on the back—what a quick thinker.

The first round ended, and the group began voting.

“I vote for Xie Wei!” said Wang Lan.

“Me too, Sister Wei!” added Guan Tong.

“What? It’s not me, really!” Xie Wei protested.

“She’s acting so dramatic—it has to be her!” He Ling said, “I vote for Xie Wei too!”

“Then I’ll vote for you—my vote goes to He Ling!” Xie Wei shot back.

“I vote for Wang Jihong!” Li Jia said.

“In that case, I’ll vote for Li Jia!” Wang Jihong replied.

The first round ended, and Xie Wei was eliminated.

“Why me?” Xie Wei wailed.

He Ling announced, “Let’s reveal Xie Wei’s identity!”

The staff held up a sign: “Not the mole!”

“See, I told you!”

“But your description sounded just like stinky tofu!”

Mao Yi wiped sweat from his brow off to the side—apparently, they really weren’t stinky tofu.

Two more rounds passed, and Mao Yi was still in the game.

In the end, Mao Yi won, and the boys’ team earned a point.

“Next, the second round: You Say, I Guess!”

He Ling explained, “Based on the word shown, two people will give indirect descriptions, and the other three have three minutes to guess. The team with the most correct answers wins.”

The boys’ team went first.

Mao Yi and He Ling gave clues; Li Jia, Du Haichao, and Wang Jihong guessed.

“Nuclear bomb!”

Mao Yi began hinting, “There’s a story about a little girl who sells something?”

“Matches! Is it matches?” Wang Jihong exclaimed.

“No, no—the other version!” Mao Yi said.

“The other version of the little girl selling something?” Du Haichao slapped his leg, “Nuclear bomb! Is it nuclear bomb?”

“Bingo!”

“What?! Mao Yi, are you for real?”

“The little girl selling nuclear bombs—that’s wild!”

Everyone was speechless. A little girl selling nuclear bombs—what kind of description was that?

“Goose, goose, goose!”

At this, Jiang Yun burst into peals of laughter that sounded like a goose honking.

“Boss, what’s so funny? You seem really happy.”

“Nothing, just watching ‘Happy Camp’!”

Jiang Yun kept watching, and the final result was a surprise: the girls’ team won.

Now Jiang Yun understood why Mao Yi wanted him to watch the show. At the end, Mao Yi made a speech, expressing his gratitude to Jiang Yun.

“First, I want to thank my teacher—Jiang Yun, for helping me…”

“I believe my teacher—Jiang Yun—will become an era-defining superstar, the most influential person in the world.”

“Thank you, Teacher, for your help!” Mao Yi gave a deep bow.

Episode five of season five of “Happy Camp” came to an end.

“Sigh, Mao Yi is so sentimental!” Jiang Yun turned off the TV.

Including the commercials, Jiang Yun had spent two hours watching the show. It was already past eleven.

He updated today’s chapters of his novels—first posting chapters for “A Perfect World,” then for “New Meteor Butterfly Sword.”

Jiang Yun opened the backend of the Green Sword website.

Whoosh!

The page suddenly showed ten rockets.

“Previously known as Linghu Chong, now called Meng Xinghun, sent ten rockets as a reward for ‘New Meteor Butterfly Sword!’”

Jiang Yun frowned. Why did this “Linghu Chong” tip again?

And another round of ten rockets.

Each rocket was worth one hundred thousand; ten rockets meant a million. When “The Proud, Laughing Wanderer” finished, that person had already tipped a million. Now, another million.

Where did he get so much money? Jiang Yun considered disabling the tipping function…

PS: Many thanks to “Single Farewell One” for the reward of 100 Qidian coins!
