Jiang Yun raised both hands, slowly bringing them together in a graceful motion. "Buddha’s Wrathful Fire Lotus!"
In Jiang Yun’s hands appeared a delicate lotus flower.
“Whoosh!”
The lotus floated gently toward Ye Xiaohe.
“Pfft!”
Ye Xiaohe spat out a mouthful of blood and flew backward.
“Cut!”
Everyone relaxed.
Jiang Yun asked, “Director, how was that take?”
“Good, it’s a wrap!”
“Woohoo!” Several veteran actors cheered.
“Everyone, the filming is progressing more smoothly than we expected. We only have a few shots left to reshoot, then we can wrap up shooting!” Liu Guoqiang announced.
“Woohoo! Great!”
Jiang Yun was also excited. This was his first film and television project, and he was the lead actor. The release was just around the corner.
“Everyone take a break. Soon, we’ll be filming the romance scenes between Xiao Yan and Xiao Xun'er!” Liu Guoqiang smiled.
Jiang Yun walked to the nearby rest area to relax. A crew member approached with a bottle of water. “Teacher Jiang Yun, here’s some water.”
Jiang Yun accepted it. “Thank you!”
“You’re welcome, Teacher Jiang Yun!”
Jiang Yun smiled.
Wang Fengwan was in the rest area, secretly watching Jiang Yun, her cheeks tinged with a shy blush. The kiss scene was coming up—what should she do? She was so nervous.
Wang Fengwan took a deep breath to calm herself.
Wang Fengwan’s manager, Wang Ke, came over.
“Sister Ke, what’s up?”
“Sigh, Xiao Wan, I suggest you don’t do the kissing scene. It might affect your public image,” Wang Ke said.
Wang Fengwan didn’t hesitate to lie. “I have no choice; the director insists.”
Wang Ke rolled her eyes. “Fine, do as you wish!”
“Hehe!”
“All units, get ready!”
“Sister Ke, I’m heading to the shoot!”
“Alright!”
Wang Fengwan and Jiang Yun walked toward the studio together.
Both were ready.
“Action!”
Jiang Yun mimed grabbing something, then pretended to throw it into his mouth.
“Ah!”
He hammered the ground with both hands, agony etched across his face.
The crew and director remained silent, watching Jiang Yun’s performance intently.
“So realistic!” Liu Guoqiang thought inwardly.
Jiang Yun’s expression twisted in pain, veins bulging on his forehead, his face flushed and neck thickened.

“Nether Lotus Demon Fire, take this!”
“Flame incantation, activate!”
Jiang Yun knelt on the ground in agony.
“Brother Xiao Yan!” Wang Fengwan embraced Jiang Yun from behind.
Jiang Yun seemed to regain some composure. “Xun’er, you need to leave. It’s dangerous here.”
“Brother Xiao Yan, I won’t!”
“Ah!” Jiang Yun cried out in pain.
The director shouted at the professional camera monitor, “Go ahead and kiss! Hurry, kiss already!”
At that moment, Wang Fengwan’s heart was pounding wildly.
Holding Jiang Yun, she could feel his masculine aura—sunny and warm.
A sweet smile blossomed on Wang Fengwan’s lips. No one noticed but the camera captured it all.
It felt as though Jiang Yun was truly in peril, and only Wang Fengwan could save him.
Suddenly, fiery flames seemed to blaze all over Jiang Yun’s body. Without hesitation, Wang Fengwan pressed her lips against his.
“Okay! That’s a wrap!” Liu Guoqiang was so excited he forgot to say “cut.”
Jiang Yun and Wang Fengwan separated.
Jiang Yun stood up from the ground, coughing twice. “Cough, cough!”
“Jiang Yun, are you alright?” Liu Guoqiang asked.
“Nothing, I just held my breath too hard to make the scene authentic,” Jiang Yun explained.
“Oh, rest up a bit. Next, we’ll shoot the romance scene between Xiao Yan and Medusa in the underground magma world of Canaan Academy!” Liu Guoqiang winked at Jiang Yun.
The implication was clear: another kissing scene was coming.
Jiang Yun rolled his eyes. Liu Guoqiang was getting a bit too playful for his age!
Wang Fengwan went to the makeup room, while Jiang Yun lounged on a chair in the rest area, bored.
After a while, Wang Fengwan entered the studio wearing a striking red fishtail gown, transforming from her demure image into that of a queen.
Jiang Yun stared at her, momentarily stunned.
Liu Guoqiang appeared beside Jiang Yun, teasing, “What’s the matter? Dazed?”
Jiang Yun replied flatly, “You’re the one who’s dazed.”
“Hey, kid, don’t talk nonsense. Am I really that disrespectful to my elders?”
Jiang Yun gave no answer, pretending not to care.
Liu Guoqiang spoke seriously, “Jiang Yun, honestly, you and Fengwan don’t suit each other. If you have any crazy ideas, forget them now. I think you’re more compatible with Meng Ya!”
Jiang Yun rolled his eyes again. “No need for you to say that.”
Liu Guoqiang moved behind the camera. “Alright, everyone, get ready.”
Jiang Yun straightened his clothes and walked toward the set.
“Okay! Everyone, get ready!”
“Action!”
“Xiao Yan, if you dare harm me, I’ll kill you!” Wang Fengwan, playing Medusa, exuded a strange and enchanting allure.
Jiang Yun, portraying Xiao Yan, roared and lunged toward Wang Fengwan recklessly.
“Cut!”
“Okay! That’s a wrap!”
Jiang Yun extended his right hand. Wang Fengwan hesitated, then reached out her right hand as well.

Jiang Yun helped Wang Fengwan up from the ground.
Wang Fengwan adjusted her gown and turned to leave.
Jiang Yun twitched at the corner of his mouth, turned, and walked off without even saying thank you. What was wrong with him?
At this moment, Liu Guoqiang was discussing the shooting plan with screenwriter Hong Lu and assistant director Li An.
“Everyone, after my bold revisions and cutting some unnecessary scenes, the plot flows much more smoothly now!” Hong Lu said.
“Mm,” assistant director Li An nodded. “The plot is indeed smoother now.”
“How about this, Director Liu? Let’s work overtime today and try to finish shooting!” Li An suggested.
Liu Guoqiang pondered. “Alright, let’s do that. We’ll work overtime and aim to wrap today!”
“Good!” Hong Lu and Li An agreed.
Liu Guoqiang raised his loudspeaker. “Everyone, we’re working overtime today!”
“Huh?” The crew groaned.
“Everyone, if we finish shooting today, we can rest tomorrow!” Liu Guoqiang said.
“Woohoo! Great!”
“Oh, that’s why!”
Hearing that they’d finish today, the crew instantly felt motivated.
“All departments, get ready to film the battle between Xiao Yan and the Soul Emperor!”
“Let’s get to work! Let’s get to work!” Everyone was energized.
The makeup artist came to Jiang Yun and touched up his makeup.
By now, it was already 5 p.m.
Liu Guoqiang held the megaphone. “Everyone, after filming, we’ll have late-night snacks together!”
“Yay!”
After finishing his makeup, Jiang Yun stepped into the studio.
Across from him stood the actor playing the Soul Emperor—a middle-aged man named Wei He, with a gentle and refined appearance, matching the scholarly image of the Soul Emperor in the original work.
“Hello, Teacher Wei!” Jiang Yun greeted politely.
“Hello, Jiang Yun!” Wei He smiled.
After exchanging greetings, the crew began rigging wirework for both actors.
“Teacher Wei, don’t you need a stunt double?” Jiang Yun asked.
Wei He laughed. “No need. I’m only in my forties—I can still move!”
Jiang Yun felt admiration.
The crew finished installing the wire rigs and began safety testing.
The martial arts choreographer came to the center of the set and explained the upcoming fight sequences, demonstrating with stunt doubles.
“Are both of you clear on the choreography?” the martial arts director asked.
Both nodded. “Clear!”
“Good, then that’s it.”
