This was the trump card Kaiba had originally reserved for his match against Pegasus!
But now, he was going to summon it!
Since Yugi had already guessed his intention to fuse the three Blue-Eyes White Dragons, and even boldly claimed that “Dark Shining Hero’s effect could easily defeat his strongest dragon,” then fine—he would summon his “strongest dragon” right now!

The fusion of three Level 8 Blue-Eyes White Dragons, resulting in an unprecedented Level 12 since the game’s inception! No wonder Kaiba called it “the strongest dragon!”

Jonouchi muttered in a daze, and who could blame him? The power displayed by the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon had already surpassed his imagination.
Yugi’s friends all nodded in agreement.
Honestly, if he were the one dueling Kaiba now, facing a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon with over 6000 attack points, he wouldn’t even know how to continue!

While Yugi’s group was stunned and awed by the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon’s overwhelming power, Yugi himself was quietly amused.
Why?
Because no matter how strong the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon was, under the rules of Duelist Kingdom, and the effect of Dark Shining Hero, Kaiba’s life points were as fragile as paper—one poke and they’d collapse!

Yugi pointed at the “Mountain Dragon” on the field. Dark Shining Hero straightened up, then flipped into the air, landing above the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon’s heads.
As the three heads of the Ultimate Dragon looked up in confusion, Dark Shining Hero raised both arms, summoning a gold-and-black energy sphere that rivaled the Ultimate Dragon’s own “Ultimate Burst Stream”!

“Elemental HERO—Dark Shining’s effect! When this card is destroyed, it drags one monster from your opponent’s field to the graveyard with it! According to the Kingdom’s rules, when an Attack Position monster is destroyed by effect, its controller takes damage equal to half that monster’s original attack!”

The crowd gasped in shock.
As everyone watched in astonishment, the Ultimate Burst Stream and the Dark Shining Hero’s black flash fired simultaneously, their attacks crossing and striking each other!
A dazzling white light exploded, forcing everyone to shield their eyes at once.
When the brilliance finally faded, all eyes turned back to the field.
On both sides, the field was empty—Kaiba’s Dragon’s Secret Treasure and Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon had vanished; Yugi’s Elemental HERO—Dark Shining had also disappeared.
But there was one key difference—
Kaiba’s life points now displayed a big, white zero!

Clearly, under the rules of Duelist Kingdom, Kaiba had suffered backlash damage equal to half his “strongest dragon’s” original attack: 4500 ÷ 2 = 2250, costing him the duel!
