Chapter 98: Anyway, Don’t Even Think About It
“Ahem… is… is that so?” Tang Zhen, now well past middle age, was nearly choked by those words. He truly hadn’t known that these two vastly different videos were both created by the same person, but he quickly regained his composure, scanning the room with a calm expression. The whole class sat in silence, pretending as if nothing had happened.
The one who spoke was naturally Li Hua, a staunch supporter of the King of Mischief, who always spoke up for his favorite streamer. Li Hua remembered clearly: back then, many had switched to the Clean Faction after watching “Loyal Yet Treacherous,” and he would not forget it. The signs of the Clean Faction had to be nipped in the bud!
After sweeping his gaze around, Tang Zhen’s eyes lingered briefly on Li Hua before moving on. Luckily, Tang Zhen wasn’t the type to erupt in anger when a student pointed out his verbal missteps. He pondered for a moment, then spoke slowly, “Have you considered why that person was able to succeed? It’s because of his broad knowledge. Look at ‘Loyal Yet Treacherous’—without a certain grasp of history, it couldn’t have been made. The same applies to the others. Why can others come up with these ideas, while you cannot? It requires learning! It requires the accumulation of knowledge!”
Though Tang Zhen’s explanation was somewhat forced, he was the teacher, after all. So no one dared to refute him.
Luo Chen certainly wouldn’t go out of his way to cause trouble. In fact, he felt Tang Zhen made a valid point. In his previous life, many well-known creators were top students, and plenty of games required some foreign language skills. A broad knowledge base allowed for more interesting references and prevented awkward silences during live streams.
In short, while the accumulation of knowledge might not be decisive, it certainly helps.
The class period flew by, and once school was dismissed, before Luo Chen could stand up to leave, Li Hua immediately approached him.
“Mischief Luo Chen, you should’ve seen the history teacher’s face earlier—it was nearly green! Hmph… Daring to say that the love story of Lang Lang and Liang Liang isn’t good? Don’t you know it’s the signature work of our faction?” Originally, Li Hua was about to call him King of Mischief outright, but facing Luo Chen’s murderous glare, he assumed Luo Chen didn’t want his identity exposed and quickly changed his approach.
“In school, just use my name. Actually, that goes for everywhere else, too,” Luo Chen said, having tried for days to get Li Hua to change his way of addressing him, but to no avail.
“I know, keep your identity hidden. I’ll be careful.” Li Hua really couldn’t understand why it needed to be concealed. Wasn’t this like wearing fine clothes in the dark? If it were him, he’d be shouting it from the rooftops—imagine the swarm of female fans! How wonderful that would be.
Luo Chen shook his head helplessly. If at first it was to avoid trouble, now it was mostly because of Li Hua. With a fan like Li Hua constantly following him and shouting “King of Mischief,” Luo Chen felt it was better to keep a low profile for his own reputation’s sake.
With Li Hua, the chatterbox, by his side, Luo Chen learned quite a bit about the fan club while filtering out Li Hua’s complaints about how miserable their faction was. The useful information was plenty.
Many fans were worried that after Luo Chen switched to gaming content, he would stop making remix videos. It seemed that ever since he posted his first gaming video, he hadn’t released any new remixes, causing concern among fans who loved that genre.
The Stardust platform was flooded with formulaic remix videos, and everyone was tired of them. Finally, someone had emerged to carry the torch, and some fans were eagerly counting on him. Would he just give it up?
“Luo Chen, you’re not planning to stop making remixes, are you?” To be honest, Li Hua was the most worried of them all. Though he enjoyed Luo Chen’s gaming videos, if there were no remixes, how could he persuade other fans to join their faction?
“Relax, I won’t forget remixes.” After being asked several times along the way, Luo Chen, growing impatient, agreed to make his next video a remix, finally silencing Li Hua’s relentless questioning.
Of course, Luo Chen had no intention of abandoning remix videos. He still wanted to bring some of the interesting references from his past life into this world. It wouldn’t do for only himself to know these entertaining things.
The shadow of the remix should envelop the whole world!
Chattering and listening, Luo Chen and Li Hua soon reached the school gates, where Yan He, Luo Tianyi, Dai Xinhua, and the others were already waiting.
“Luo Chen, you’re here. This is…” Having waited a long while, Yan He finally stepped forward when she saw Luo Chen arrive. Noticing Li Hua, she paused and asked.
“Hello, everyone! You can call me Li Hua or Hua. I’m a loyal fan of the great master.” Before Luo Chen could speak, Li Hua adjusted his flowing hairstyle, extended his hand, and flashed what he thought was a charming smile.
Unfortunately, it had no effect. Aside from Luo Tianyi, who threw herself into Luo Chen’s arms, the other two girls looked at him with curious eyes, waiting for Luo Chen’s explanation.
“Li Hua, my classmate… and friend.” Luo Chen had originally intended to say just the first two words, but seeing Li Hua’s pitiful, nearly tearful expression, he added “friend” at the end.
Once convinced he truly was the great master’s close friend, Li Hua instantly perked up, dragging Luo Chen aside to whisper,
“Master! From now on, I’ll call you that. Three gorgeous girls—so, which one is your girlfriend? Or are there more?”
“None of them…”
Luo Chen meant to say that none were his girlfriend—one was his little sister, another his maid, and the third… his free illustrator. So none of them.
“What? All of them?” Li Hua cut him off before he could finish, his face stricken. The gap between people was just too great. No wonder the master paid no mind to female fans—he simply wasn’t interested.
Seeing Li Hua’s obvious misunderstanding, Luo Chen was about to explain, but to keep his adorable girls from being pestered by Li Hua’s incessant chatter, he changed his words at the last moment.
“In any case, don’t even think about it…”
