Chapter One Hundred and Ten

Yang Shuting looked at her with a faint, ambiguous smile and said, "You’d better hurry; Yu Xingyue doesn’t have many days left in China." The moment she said this, Lin Zimo’s attention was immediately captured.
“Auntie, what do you mean? Is Yu Xingyue...?” Lin Zimo thought Yu Xingyue might be critically ill and not have long to live.
Yang Shuting quickly clarified, seeing the misunderstanding in Lin Zimo’s eyes: "It’s not what you think. Actually, Yu Xingyue is about to study abroad with Sun Ying soon. He only has two days left before he leaves, and before he goes, he wants to prepare some things with you all."
Hearing this, Lin Zimo’s mood plummeted. Yu Xingyue was going abroad to study—such an important matter, yet why hadn’t he told him?
“Where is he going to study?” Lin Zimo asked, and Yang Shuting answered, easing her doubts: “He’s going to study in Tokyo, Japan. Lin Zimo, you’re quite familiar with Tokyo, it’s your hometown, isn’t it?”
Knowing Yu Xingyue’s destination, Lin Zimo was first shocked, then said, “Studying in my hometown—should I feel touched or grateful?” Lin Zimo asked Yang Shuting, who was very familiar with Tokyo, to share some tips for Yu Xingyue about the city. As a native Japanese, he was more than happy to offer some help.
“You still need to ask him about this,” Yang Shuting said, looking toward the back of Yu Xingyue’s room, where Sun Yao was having a heartfelt conversation with him.
“Even if he doesn’t want to, I have to talk to him. I’m worried his personality won’t last long in Japan. I want to warn him so he’ll be careful.” Yang Shuting didn’t stop Lin Zimo as he rushed out. What she must do is prepare something for Yu Xingyue, but this would only be known when Yu Xingyue was about to leave, so she kept silent for now.
Looking at Yu Xingyue again, after Sun Yao’s earnest persuasion, his mood had somewhat improved. “Thank you, Uncle Sun. I’m such a terrible person that this matter has made me like this.”
Sun Yao shook his head: “Everyone experiences this. When facing extremely difficult situations, people tend to retreat. You’re an exception, and if you understand me, you’re one of the few.”
“One of the few?” Yu Xingyue was surprised: “Has Uncle Sun met others who were in situations like mine?”
“That’s not convenient to say. It’s work-related. If it were your mother’s words, I would say the same.” Honestly, what Sun Yao said made Yang Shuting quite concerned, and it also changed her somewhat. Perhaps this was why Yang Shuting liked Sun Yao. Yu Xingyue, at his age, still didn’t understand the adult world, and it was a headache trying to make him comprehend it.

These past few days, Xiao Jian’s complexion had worsened. During his stay at Lin Zimo’s home, he hadn’t had a good night’s sleep and had no appetite.
If it weren’t for Lin Xiaoxin staying by his side these days, Xiao Jian would have broken down long ago.
Xiao Jian knew this family was kind to him, but their kindness felt forced, like enduring a year day by day.

Now Lin Xiaoxin was pushing Xiao Jian for a walk in the park. The breeze blowing toward them calmed Xiao Jian’s heart, allowing him to forget those troubles and enjoy the moment’s gentle touch.
“Does the wind feel good?” Lin Xiaoxin asked.
“Very good, really comfortable,” Xiao Jian replied.
“I’m sorry these past days have been unpleasant for you. Please don’t hold a grudge against my brother, okay?” Lin Xiaoxin tried to mediate between Xiao Jian and Lin Zimo, hoping to ease their strained relationship.
As soon as she said this, Xiao Jian’s expression changed coldly: “That depends on her. It’s none of my business. If she apologizes to me first, I might forgive her.”
“What do you want her to do?” Lin Xiaoxin asked.
“I don’t want to say. It’s up to her actions. I won’t be the one to give in.” Xiao Jian crossed his arms.
Sigh, so this really was going to clash with Lin Zimo. Why should he dislike him? Then he could dislike her in return. Would this be interesting? If neither side yields, their relationship will only fracture further, and Lin Zimo might end up labeled as discriminating or violent toward the disabled.
Apparently, no one had thought that far. Lin Xiaoxin continued, “Alright, if that’s what you mean, there’s nothing I can do. You two have to solve it yourselves. I’m just an outsider; I won’t interfere.”
“That works.” Xiao Jian smirked. “Now it seems I’m the weaker one and Lin Zimo the stronger, turning the passive into the active.” Thinking this gave Xiao Jian energy; he couldn’t be suppressed like this forever. He had to do something to earn Lin Zimo’s respect—that was his only chance.
“Consider this your help. I need your support,” Xiao Jian said, turning to Lin Xiaoxin.
“How can I help? As long as it’s not too extreme, I’ll go through fire and water for you,” Lin Xiaoxin said.
“So you agree? I’ll tell you,” Xiao Jian signaled her to come closer so he could speak quietly. Lin Xiaoxin rolled her eyes—what was there to fear with Lin Zimo gone? But she still didn’t go against Xiao Jian’s wishes.
“This, then that,” Xiao Jian meticulously explained everything to Lin Xiaoxin. He hoped she would remember; if not, it was her problem, not his, since she wasn’t paying attention.
Lin Xiaoxin absorbed it all and said, “From what you say, this plan is quite cunning. There’s no other choice. I’ve wanted to do something like this too but couldn’t find the chance.”
“There’s only one chance. Grab it and get back at your brother.” Xiao Jian’s face lit up with a brilliant smile. Just imagining Lin Zimo’s embarrassed expression after being pranked made him thrilled.
Lin Xiaoxin pushed Xiao Jian home to prepare. What came next would surely be unforgettable for Lin Zimo and would vent some of Xiao Jian’s long-held frustrations.

Little did they know, Lin Zimo had returned home nearly an hour ago, quietly writing something.
Looking closely, Lin Zimo was drafting a list of important reminders for Tokyo, written for Yu Xingyue. Essentially, it was a warning about vital matters—things that could affect Yu Xingyue’s safety.
After revising the list repeatedly for about half an hour, Lin Zimo finally finished. Next, he would wait until Yu Xingyue’s departure to hand him the notes, along with something else. Zinuo took an item from a drawer—a treasure to Lin Zimo.
Lin Zimo smiled, “I hope Yu Xingyue accepts my gift. Yu Xingyue, don’t forget me while you study in Japan. If you dare forget me, I won’t let you off.” He smiled sweetly, staring dumbfounded at the item in his hands for a long time.
Hearing the door open, knowing it was Xiao Jian and Lin Xiaoxin returning, Lin Zimo told Xiao Jian about Yu Xingyue’s upcoming departure. Stepping out, he saw the two sharing secretive smiles—smiles tinged with mischief. At first, Lin Zimo felt uneasy, but it didn’t matter.
“Xiao Jian, I have something important to tell you—about Yu Xingyue,” Lin Zimo said.
At the mention of Yu Xingyue, the smile on Xiao Jian’s face instantly stiffened. He was nervous—had something happened to Yu Xingyue?
Their prank plan had ended before it even began. Lin Xiaoxin lightly tapped Xiao Jian’s hand. Ignoring her, Xiao Jian asked Lin Zimo, “Yu ge, why are you so serious? Is something wrong with Yu Xingyue?”
Though Xiao Jian hadn’t let go of his resentment, anything concerning Yu Xingyue would push his grudges aside.
Lin Zimo sighed, “Yu Xingyue is leaving to study abroad in two days. I’m trying to decide what to give him as a gift. I’ve thought about it for a long time but haven’t come up with anything.” Lin Zimo had said he was preparing a gift to protect the secret of the item.
Hearing this, Xiao Jian asked, “Why? Yu ge is fine, so why go study abroad?”
“You should ask him first. He must have his reasons,” Lin Zimo replied.
“No way! I have to ask Yu ge clearly why he’s leaving.” Xiao Jian spun his wheelchair and was about to leave but was stopped by Lin Xiaoxin.
“What are you doing? Wait until my brother finishes talking,” she urged.
