Shen Xing slowly descended onto a street of Sky Blue Planet. All around him bustled a crowd of Earthlings.

Some were busy at their work, while others enjoyed the afternoon sun in the leisurely plazas.

Though, in the hierarchy of the Star Origin Civilization, their own was deemed a second-class race, after surviving the storm, their lives were now filled with tranquility and contentment.

During the Black Hole Incident, many Earth’s inhabitants, sleeping in stasis, had missed the disaster entirely. When they awoke, they discovered not only had the Star Origin Civilization protected them, but also provided them a new home.

Gratitude took root in their hearts, growing ever stronger with time.

Those who had endured the Great Terror did not harbor resentment; instead, they fell into a pensive silence.

No one wished to disturb this peace, and the reason for it all could be traced back to a single phrase:

The continuation of civilization is greater than all else.

Perhaps, for the people of Earth, those words now held the same sacred weight as the position of the Star Father on Sky Dome Planet. Civilization itself had become their new faith.

They had simply replaced their gods with the idea of civilization.

Shen Xing made his way to the research center on Sky Blue Planet, where the finest scientists from both the Star Origin and Earth civilizations gathered. At the moment, they were jointly studying the technological legacy left behind by the Dir Civilization.

Backed by the Star Origin Civilization, they had recently deciphered even more about the Dir legacy. Though it was but a fraction of the Dir’s knowledge, it still proved immensely valuable to both the Star Origin and Earth civilizations.

Aribert was poring over several sets of data. When he noticed the arrival of the High Priest, he nervously went up to greet him.

“Greetings, High Priest!”

Hearing Aribert’s words, the others paused their work and paid their respects to Shen Xing.

Shen Xing responded with a gentle smile, his gaze sweeping over every person before settling on Lin Luan, the director of the research center.

“Lin Luan, have there been any new discoveries in the Dir Civilization’s legacy?”

Absorbed in her data, Lin Luan hadn’t noticed the commotion until Shen Xing’s inquiry brought her attention to his presence.

She looked much as she had before; the advancement of divine arts had granted her students greater vitality.

“Teacher!” Lin Luan exclaimed joyfully, rising to bow before Shen Xing, then began reporting their recent findings.

“We’ve learned much from the Dir Civilization. Their technology and knowledge are well worth our study.”

“By organizing the Dir records, we’ve also caught glimpses of corners of the universe previously unknown to us.”

“Additionally, we’ve discovered information about two new civilizations.”

Shen Xing nodded at her words, then accepted the data screen she handed him and began to review it.

The information had been collated from various Dir data sets, mostly concerning trivial matters of the universe and certain precautions for interstellar travel.

As the research deepened, they gained a more comprehensive understanding of the Dir Civilization’s tragic fate.

Once a glorious civilization, the Dirs perished due to their excessive tolerance toward their vassals.

A report from the Dirs mentioned the war that led to their annihilation.

It all began with a subordinate civilization—the Sapo Civilization.

The Sapo were at the technological level of contemporary Earth, lacking even the means for hyperspace travel. Yet the Dirs had warmly embraced them.

The Dir Civilization had long known only peace, their unity ushering in several leaps in technology, making them a cosmic power.

In their eyes, entering the universe was not to step into a dark forest, but to stride onto a vast, sunlit prairie.

Amidst the boundless sea of stars, all beings should coexist and progress together, striving for the summit of technology.

They would not resort to weapons unless absolutely necessary, only retaliating in self-defense if attacked.

The Dir Civilization was quite fortunate—until they reached a high enough level of technology, they had never suffered a blow from the darkness of the cosmos.

But that fortune turned to calamity.

The Sapo Civilization, exploiting the Dirs’ tolerance, infiltrated the core of their society and ultimately delivered a fatal strike.

An unknown silicon-based race enabled the Sapo to activate a planet-killing weapon against organic life right on the Dir homeworld, causing catastrophic devastation and forcing the Dirs into war.

In the end, the Dirs resorted to desperate measures, dragging both their own civilization and the silicon-based race into mutual destruction.

From these fragments, Shen Xing could sense the rise and fall of a great civilization.

He knew that not all civilizations in the universe could coexist in harmony; some, driven by greed and ambition, would not hesitate to betray and destroy.

“Teacher, in the star charts left by the Dirs, we also detected the positions of several other civilizations.”

“However, all of them are located in what Earth’s civilization calls the Virgo Supercluster, referred to by cosmic civilizations as Alpha—or at least, that’s what our translation suggests, meaning the First Supercluster.”

“Based on orbital data provided by Earth’s scientists, our own galaxy lacks a hyperspace route network. While we can conduct hyperspace travel, to actually enter the network, we must find a breakthrough point somewhere in the universe.”

“Once we find that, we can access the network of hyperspace routes.”

Lin Luan’s expression grew solemn, as if she had something of great importance to report.

“According to the Dir data, the Dirs were one of the civilizations that built the hyperspace route network, responsible for the routes between the First and Second Superclusters.”

“In the First Supercluster, it is the Intergalactic Civilization Council that constructs the routes.”

“Their goal in building these hyperspace routes was to connect all cosmic civilizations, though we still don’t know their true motives.”

“If we enter the network, we’ll gain a broader perspective on the universe, able to communicate and learn from other civilizations.”

“But teacher, I’m not sure if it’s truly safe.”

Lin Luan hesitated as she spoke of the hyperspace network; she saw it as an opportunity, yet could not ignore the dangers lurking in the cosmos.

Shen Xing noticed her uncertainty. Handing the data screen back to her, he said, “Progress in civilization has never been achieved by hesitation. To falter is to fail.”

“We must expand Star Origin Civilization, keep developing, until we stand at the pinnacle of the universe, looking down upon all other civilizations.”

“The Star Father has always believed that humanity can achieve this.”

Hearing Shen Xing’s words, everyone in the research center felt their blood stir with inspiration.

Lin Luan’s eyes brightened, and she nodded with determination, once more leading her team back to their work.

As Shen Xing watched the busy scene, he quietly turned, preparing to leave Sky Blue Planet for another world. Yet just then, a sudden message in his consciousness made him pause in surprise—
