Chapter 109: The Seed of Prehistoric Civilization
“Everyone, channel your vital energy into the light barrier. The energy supply of the Jiaolong is about to fail,” Hua Feng urged, watching anxiously as the spherical light barrier was compressed to the brink of shattering, hastening their support.
“It’s useless! The power your vital energy can unleash will never break this golden cage forged from mental energy. I’ll take you back first—there will be time to talk later!” Xing Tian joined his team in reinforcing the control of the golden cage, instantly doubling the pressure on Hua Feng and the others.
After a brief stalemate, Hua Feng, Bai Feng, Yun Meng, Wang Yue, Shuang Ning, and Li Long successively lost consciousness. Just before succumbing to sleep, they realized the mental prison not only restrained them but also had a hypnotic effect. Yet it was already too late; each fell into a deep slumber, harboring a sense of bitter reluctance.
The spherical light barrier vanished, and with a casual gesture, Xing Tian and his team swiftly dragged the six of them deep into the ocean. Countless tiny bubbles ascended with their progress to the water’s surface. In the heart of the underwater city’s central plaza, only the Jiaolong stood silently, a new arrival secured by several mooring posts. Everything was still, as if nothing had happened.
The sky turned completely dark. On the shore, Lin Chong anxiously awaited the arrival of Zhang Sanfeng and Dan Qiusheng’s reinforcements. If all went as planned, they would not arrive for at least two hours.
Time passed unknowingly. Hua Feng gradually opened his eyes, finding himself and Yun Meng transported to an entirely new, unfamiliar world. Had he not seen the azure sea above and the dazzling array of marine creatures, he might have believed he was back on land.
Everything was strange, save for his comrades and loved ones nearby. Most familiar, however, was the mental prison that confined them—a form of mental energy unlike anything known to modern humans. Even Hua Feng, formidable as he was, found himself utterly powerless.
“Have you ever heard of prehistoric civilizations?” A familiar voice spoke. Hua Feng turned his head to see it was Xing Tian, the one who had hypnotized and brought them here.
“Heard of them, so what? Never heard of them, so what!” Hua Feng, the first to awaken, harbored no fondness for this man called Xing Tian.
The moment he awoke, Hua Feng began strategizing an escape from this space that resembled a gigantic oceanarium. Rough calculations suggested it spanned at least ten square kilometers. Unlike a sealed barrier, this space seemed independently developed. Meanwhile, the others remained asleep, and Hua Feng found himself utterly devoid of strength, unable to summon even a trace of vital energy.
“Welcome to the gathering place of prehistoric civilizations. We, the Sea Tribe, have united here the seeds of all human civilizations destroyed by great catastrophes throughout history. Some of you may have already found traces of this,” Xing Tian said, handing Hua Feng some papers inscribed with ancient texts.
With a slight recovery of his strength, Hua Feng began to read. Many of the contents felt vaguely familiar:
Humanity has discovered numerous ancient relics spanning vast stretches of time. Excavations and findings reveal various prehistoric human civilizations dating back to the distant past. From ancient times onward, humans have existed on Earth, developing highly advanced civilizations. For instance, footprints of shoe-wearing humans found on trilobite fossils dating from 600 million to 250 million years ago; a large chain nuclear reactor dating back 2 billion years discovered in Gabon, Africa; a metal sphere nearly 2.8 billion years old found in South Africa; and stone tools from multiple prehistoric periods. It is hard to imagine all these belong to the same human civilization era. Thus, scientists have proposed the theory of multiple prehistoric civilizations, suggesting human civilization is cyclical.
Modern science recognizes that all things develop cyclically. Humans age and die; plants and animals live and perish; societies evolve in cycles. Human development likely follows cycles as well, with clues found in the various prehistoric relics and stone tools unearthed to this day.
Scholar Emilio, in his work *Encounters of the Galaxy, Apollo Objects, and Atlantis: Discontinuous Mutations in Human History*, deeply analyzed the causes of prehistoric human extinction, concluding that extraterrestrial objects—comets, meteorites—caused abnormal climate changes on Earth, possibly leading to the destruction of human civilizations.
Yet it is evident that different prehistoric human civilizations eventually vanished from Earth. Catastrophic disasters at various times wiped out civilizations and most living creatures, leaving only a scant few survivors.
Hua Feng continued reading while Xing Tian quietly walked away.
About 1,126.54 kilometers east of Australia’s coast, and 64.37 kilometers south of New Caledonia’s Pine Island, lie over 400 peculiar ancient burial mounds built of sand and stone, ranging from 2.44 to 2.74 meters tall and 91.44 meters in diameter. These mounds are barren, with no remains found inside, only three containing upright cement pillars. Another mound held two parallel cement pillars. These pillars measured from 1.02 to 1.9 meters in diameter and 1.02 to 2.54 meters tall. Carbon-14 isotope dating revealed they were made between 1095 and 1120 B.C. Who used cement before humanity had even invented it?
In South America, a secret tunnel system was discovered, guarded by an indigenous tribe at its hidden entrance. It extended 250 meters underground, with smooth walls and flat ceilings. Inside, enormous halls existed. One hall measured 153 meters wide and 164 meters long, containing tables and chairs made of unknown materials—stone-like but not cold, plastic-like but as hard as steel.
The Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, Turkey, holds a peculiar ancient map, discovered in the early 18th century, resembling a copy. The Mediterranean region is precisely drawn, but other areas like the Americas and Africa are severely distorted. Yet further study revealed it to be an aerial bird’s-eye view. When compared with photos of Earth taken by Apollo 8, the ancient map was almost identical. The distorted outlines of the Americas and Africa perfectly matched the spacecraft’s images.
The map even depicted complex terrain beneath Antarctica’s ice sheet, mirroring echo-sounding surveys conducted by Antarctic explorers in 1952. Who mastered advanced aerial imaging technology in ancient times?
On the Altiplano near Lake Titicaca in South America, the mysterious ruins of the ancient city of Tiwarak feature a massive statue carved from a single red sandstone block. The statue bears a complete star map and hundreds of symbols. After years of study, archaeologists deciphered the star map showing the ancient night sky 27,000 years ago, and the symbols recorded profound astronomical knowledge unknown to modern humans. How did ancient inhabitants of the Lake Titicaca region possess such advanced celestial understanding?
In 1921, in Zambia, Africa, the skull of an ancient Neanderthal was found with a smooth-edged round hole on the left side, consistent only with a bullet wound. Neanderthals lived during the Middle Paleolithic, about 70,000 years ago—when humans had only just begun using stone axes!
On the outskirts of Baghdad, scientists uncovered chemical batteries dating back 2,000 years. Replicas generated 0.5 volts, functioning continuously for 18 days. The world’s first recognized battery was invented only around 1800, barely over two centuries ago.
...
The overwhelming information gave Hua Feng a headache. Yun Meng and the others still lay sleeping, while the quiet around them suggested no one else was present.
