Volume One, Chapter 146: I’ll Blow for You
The room was pitch-black, and only the light filtering in from outside faintly outlined the man’s figure.
Had Mu Feifei returned, she would certainly have recognized him. He was none other than Zhang Heng, the bodyguard her father, Mu Yuanshan, had hired for her not long ago.
As for Zhang Heng’s purpose in coming here, it was naturally to take Mu Feifei back to the capital.
But how could Ding Yinuo, a man seasoned by years of hardship, fail to see through Baihe’s foolish, unnatural smile? He hesitated, wondering whether he should continue.
“Yufei was singing at a karaoke bar with some friends when a few thugs harassed her. By coincidence, she ran into your friend Xiang Ming, who stepped in to help. In the end, several bottles were smashed over Xiang Ming’s head, and he was taken to the ICU.” As he spoke, Nian Yujiang also came downstairs in his pajamas.
I froze. In slow motion, I turned my head back and stared at her face. What did she mean? Why had she said “also”?
With a screech, the van came speeding toward them in Jiang Guangyan and the others’ line of sight. It slammed on the brakes nearly fifty yards away, but even so, momentum carried it forward for more than thirty yards before it finally ground to a halt.
“Enjoy the moment!” Bai Long patted Qin Cang on the shoulder, and the three of them leaped onto the back of the Golden-Winged Fire Eagle. Qin Cang pointed toward the northwest, and the Golden-Winged Fire Eagle immediately let out a cry and soared into the sky on its enormous wings.
Li Zhishuo thought for a moment. “As for me, I’ll probably follow my family’s arrangements. If I haven’t found someone I truly love, it makes little difference who I end up with.”
I made an excuse and went home before the farewell party ended. Li Zhin娜 wanted to leave with me, but Wang Jingmin kept pestering her, leaving her unable to get away. In the end, Zheng Hui’s boyfriend drove over to pick them up, and they took me home.
The three of us were Li Zhishuo’s students, so in a situation like this, we naturally had to follow his lead. Out of respect for Li Zhishuo’s father, everyone from the police station withdrew. Never having witnessed anything like this, Liu Nan secretly took my hand. Her palm was covered in sweat, and she seemed somewhat nervous.
The bus stopped, and Ji Lingfei boarded. Xia Zechen pushed open the door, slammed it shut, and ran toward the bus. Seeing that it was about to leave, he waved, and the driver stopped again and opened the door. Xia Zechen climbed aboard. Ji Lingfei had taken a seat in the rear row, and there were not many passengers on the bus.
The photograph contained the time at which it had been taken, as recorded by the phone itself, while the multimedia message was sent ten minutes after the picture was captured.
This was Defying Fate’s dream: a super mecha powered by three generations of Ark reactors—Pangu, the great god from mythology who had created heaven and earth. His power was infinite, because he was the entire world itself.
“The king has come to ask for reinforcements, hasn’t he? Why bother with all these tricks?” Liansheng suddenly blurted out. Jin Sansei was immediately startled into a face slick with greasy sweat, his eyes darting rapidly as his thoughts twisted and turned.
Tianzi Peak walked at the very front. In truth, he could not see the path at all and was merely making his way downward blindly. Yet there seemed to be no better option at present; all they could do was take things one step at a time. As long as they controlled their breathing and kept their voices down, even if the two teams truly crossed paths, they would not be easily exposed.
“Great Attendant of the Bewitching Butterfly, could it be that you couldn’t bear to leave me and came to keep me company?” Langya Wolf grinned and asked in a hopeful tone.
“He said that if Cousin wants to sell her shares in the Bai Corporation, he is willing to buy them. He won’t haggle.” Bai Ling recounted everything truthfully.
“How did you manage that just now?” Lati held the machine gun in front of him, continuously suppressing the Titan Security members who were trying to attack, and voiced the question on everyone’s mind.
“Hmph. Fortunately, the Sect Master bestowed several talisman seals upon me, allowing me to summon several Ghost Kings from among the hungry ghosts.” The Iron Wheel King spread his stance and spoke.
