“Thanks, godfather, for letting me add the title of ‘Miss Senior.’ I’ll treat you to Honey Snow City tomorrow.”
Duan Wuhen chuckled at the teasing and replied,
“No need to thank me. Focus more on women; maybe you’ll actually win the beauty’s heart.”
After hanging up, Duan Wuhen rested his hands behind his head, reflecting on the time since he descended the mountain.
First, he met his fiancée, Yan Xiyue. Though a bit spoiled and headstrong, her heart was kind.
Then Yan’s father arranged for him to enroll at Han City University, fulfilling Duan Wuhen’s long-held dream of college life.
Soon after, he stumbled upon the abandoned Duan family mansion and found some clues within.
Finally, he was certain that the massacre of the Duan family over a decade ago was intricately linked to the Huangfu family.
Once the matters in Han City were settled, it was time to head north to the capital for revenge!
Setting down his phone, Duan Wuhen approached the bed, gazed toward the capital’s direction, and clenched his fists.

Meanwhile, in Yan Xiyue’s room,
Curious, she clicked on a video message sent by her close friend Zhao Linger.
Minutes later, Yan Xiyue covered her eyes, turned off her phone, and muttered curses.
“Why would Linger send me such a terrifying video so late at night? Now I’m scared to sleep.”
Suddenly, thunder rumbled, followed by the cracking of lightning outside the window, and soon heavy rain poured down.
Startled, Yan Xiyue stared out at the storm, unease creeping into her mind.
This scene matched the video exactly—could it be...?
A shiver ran through her body as a sudden thought struck her.
The sounds outside completely shattered her sleepiness.
“Linger’s going to get a stern talking-to tomorrow for sending me those scary videos so late.”
Clutching her blanket, Yan Xiyue watched the storm outside. Every loud noise made her cover her head and burrow deeper under the covers.
By midnight, yawning repeatedly, she could no longer endure the sleeplessness.
But with this rain, it wouldn’t stop anytime soon.
Was she going to just sit here all night? No way!
Thinking of Duan Wuhen in the next room, a bold idea formed in her mind:
Why not go sleep in his room?
But then, the audacity of the thought shocked her.

Would sneaking into his room mean she was practically inviting trouble?
Just as Yan Xiyue hesitated, a lightning flash startled her intensely.
No longer wavering, she grabbed her blanket and rushed out of her room.
Meanwhile, in the next room, Duan Wuhen was sound asleep, unusually exhausted these days and utterly unresponsive to knocking.
After knocking for several minutes with no reply, Yan Xiyue, frustrated, twisted the door handle—and to her surprise, the door opened.
“This guy doesn’t even lock his door at night. What’s he thinking?”
She groped her way through the dark to the bedside.
Seeing Duan Wuhen sleeping soundly, Yan Xiyue curled up beside him, clutching her blanket, and soon drifted off quietly.
Outside, thunder and lightning continued through the night.
Inside, Yan Xiyue unknowingly hugged Duan Wuhen’s arm, sleeping more soundly than ever.
At dawn, sunlight spilled across the earth, illuminating the beauty of the world.
Duan Wuhen opened his eyes, feeling unusually well-rested, almost as if he were hallucinating so early in the morning.
He was stunned to see Yan Xiyue still sound asleep beside him. Rubbing his eyes, he looked again.
Seeing the same scene, he hardened his heart and gave himself a sharp slap.
“Ouch, that hurts! This isn’t a dream! No way—did that little girl do something to me last night?”
He abruptly threw off the covers, relieved to find himself fully clothed.
“Alright, alright, that scared me to death.”
Yan Xiyue, disturbed by his movements, mumbled something sleepily.
“It’s so early—can’t a person get some rest?”
She turned over and fell back asleep.
Watching her peaceful face, Duan Wuhen couldn’t help but smile wryly.
Gently, he slipped out from under her arm, then stood and walked to the window.
Looking out at the rain-washed, fresh world, his mind puzzled over how Yan Xiyue had ended up in his room last night.
At that moment, Yan Xiyue slowly awoke and saw Duan Wuhen standing by the window.
She froze briefly, then remembered the previous night, her face flushing crimson.
Sitting up, she stammered,
“Um… there was a lot of noise outside last night, and I… I got scared, so I just...”

Duan Wuhen turned, a faint, teasing smile playing on his lips.
“So you came into my room and hugged me all night?”
Hearing this, Yan Xiyue’s blush deepened. Wrapped in her blanket, she scolded,
“You’re the one talking! Don’t tell anyone!”
Duan Wuhen shrugged helplessly.
“Well, since you’re awake, get up. We’ve got a busy day ahead.”
“Get out! I’m getting up!”
“Oh, so shy now? Who was it that snuck into my room last night? Get out—don’t think I didn’t notice.”
“You!”
“Alright, I’ll go prepare breakfast. Hurry up and come down.”
After Duan Wuhen left, Yan Xiyue reluctantly left the warmth of her bed.
Dressed neatly, she entered Duan Wuhen’s bathroom to wash up.
But after washing her face, she realized her towel was missing.
“Duan Wuhen, have you seen my towel?”
“Oh, the pink one? It’s in my room, inside the cabinet.”
What?
Hearing this, Yan Xiyue’s whole body sank.
Without bothering to dry her face, she hurried back to her room and opened the cabinet.
Sure enough, her towel lay there.
“Duan Wuhen, you pervert!”
Downstairs, Duan Wuhen was preparing breakfast when he was suddenly insulted for no reason.
Annoyed, he turned off the microwave and went upstairs.
“Hey! I was being kind telling you where your towel was, and you call me names? Let me teach you a lesson about the husband’s authority.”
With that, Duan Wuhen grabbed Yan Xiyue, pulled her onto his lap, and gave her a few sharp pats on the backside.
Smack, smack, smack—
After a few strikes, Yan Xiyue began to sob softly.
Duan Wuhen stopped and lifted her up.
“You brat, Duan Wuhen, you’re such a scoundrel!”
Seeing Yan Xiyue run crying back to her room, Duan Wuhen was momentarily at a loss.
Was I wrong?
