Chapter 22: The Truth Revealed

Jin’er linked her arm with Mu’s. Mu called Chen Yao to join them. Li Feng stood at the center of the stage, smiling warmly as he introduced his two daughters to the guests, taking care to clear up the rumors of domestic abuse.
“Although Mu is my adopted daughter, I have always treated her as my own. There’s been no beating or scolding—actually, not even a harsh word. Some media outlets like to take things out of context. I hope everyone won’t listen to rumors and will believe in my innocence!”
At that moment, Su Fen took Mu’s hand gently, speaking kindly, “Mu is someone I’ve watched grow up from childhood. Both Li Feng and I love her dearly. Jin’er sometimes even gets a little jealous.”
Jin’er smiled and added, “That’s right. My sister grew up surrounded by our parents’ love, unlike me—I endured so much suffering before I returned. Sister, you must take care of me from now on.”
In the live stream room, viewers erupted in anger.
“So, the real clown is me?”
“The abuse is fake, the imprisonment is fake, hiding behind a mask, afraid to show her face—what a liar!”
“Mu, speak up! Did they threaten you?”
“She’s probably too scared to talk. Lucky for her, the Chi family never sued for defamation!”
“Exactly! If you have the guts, defend yourself!”
“I felt sorry for her all this time! Even boycotted their products, but it turns out she’s just stabbing us in the back to protect her family’s interests!”
The number of spectators surpassed one million.
Mu remained silent.
When Li Feng again turned to her, she blinked blankly, expression vacant. “What did you say?”
“I asked you to say a few words to everyone.”
“Dad, I can’t hear out of my left ear. Could you speak louder?”
“How come you can’t hear?”
“Seven years ago, you hit me with an ashtray, and I lost hearing in my left ear.”
After saying this, she seemed to realize something and quickly covered her mouth. “Sorry, I shouldn’t say this here. Dad, I’d better go down. I can’t speak well; I’ll just mess things up for you.”
The live stream erupted again.
“Can’t hear out of her left ear? Poor Mu!”
“Who am I supposed to believe?”
As Mu tried to leave the stage, Jin’er grabbed her arm sharply. “Sister, what nonsense are you talking about?”
Only one minute remained before the drug would take effect.
Then Mu would remove her mask and strip off her clothes before the distinguished guests and millions of viewers across the country...
A promiscuous ugly woman, scorned by all.
No one would ever pity her.
Jin’er’s heart raced with excitement at the thought.
Soon.
Five seconds left.

One second.
Huh.
Suddenly she felt so hot.
Her body felt unbearably uncomfortable...
Like...
The sensation of being in heat.
Jin’er froze, then turned sharply toward Mu.
Mu’s lips curled into a sly smile, fox-like eyes cold and clear as they stared mockingly at her.
Filled with ridicule and sarcasm.
In an instant, Jin’er was engulfed by a dizzying haze of lust and confusion.
She clung tightly to Chen Yao beside her, wrapping her arms around him like an octopus, whispering seductively, “Brother-in-law, I want... I want...”
The live stream viewers skyrocketed to tens of millions.
“W-what? A live sex show?”
“Sister and brother-in-law? Sister-in-law and brother-in-law?! So scandalous!”
“The real heiress is so wild~”
“Why aren’t they selling products live now? They’d definitely top the sales charts!”
“Someone’s tipping—the top donator is here!”
At the scene, murmurs of disbelief filled the air.
On stage, Chen Yao panicked, trying hard to push Jin’er away. “You’re crazy! Why are you hugging me? Are you out of your mind?”
Su Fen paced nervously nearby, helpless. “Jin’er, what’s wrong with you? Don’t scare your mother.”
Li Feng, who had spent years in nightlife circles, snapped out of his shock and immediately called for a bucket of ice water, dumping it over Jin’er’s head.
One bucket wasn’t enough; another bucket followed!
The heat coursing through Jin’er’s body slowly subsided under the cold water.
She curled up on the floor, trembling.
Her delicate makeup washed away by the cold water, leaving bruised and disheveled patches, making her look ghastly.
She stared blankly at the audience below.
They pointed fingers and looked at her with contempt.
Jin’er shook her head, bit her tongue hard to stay conscious.
After a moment of ferocity, she furiously pointed at Mu. “Sister, I know you always resented me for coming back, but you shouldn’t have drugged me!”
Li Feng took off his coat and draped it over Jin’er’s shoulders, joining in the accusation. “Last time, I didn’t blame you for your wild talk. But this time, not only are you a habitual liar, but you also drugged your sister. You’re truly incorrigible!”
Su Fen shouted in hatred, “Mu, why did you do this? What did we ever do to you?!”
Even Chen Yao publicly sided with Jin’er. “Jin’er is your sister. She’s suffered so much. Instead of feeling sorry for her, you want to hurt her? How could you be so cruel?”

At this moment, Mu faced the scorn of all.
She looked at her family before her in confusion, her clear, pure gaze filled with wounded pain. “I didn’t drug anyone. Mom, Dad, why do you never believe me?”
Jin’er said, “Sister, just admit it. We will forgive you.”
Li Feng demanded, “If it wasn’t you, then who else? Apologize to Jin’er immediately!”
Su Fen said, “It’s not that we don’t trust you; it’s that your jealousy blinds you and you have no sense of boundaries!”
Chen Yao said coldly, “I thought you were pure and kind, but you’re as venomous as a snake. I’m calling off the engagement!”
Suddenly, Jin’er lunged at Mu, trying to tear off her mask, but was stopped by Ji Yuanjing rushing up from the audience, shielding Mu behind him.
He looked at the four adults with a cold expression. “Without any proof, on what grounds do you accuse Mu?”
Jin’er stared at Ji Yuanjing. “Young Master Ji, my sister is scheming and always bullies me. It’s our fault for spoiling her. I don’t mind taking some grievances today, but if she behaves like this towardI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
