Volume One, Chapter Sixteen: A True Disgrace to the Sanhe Sect
Li Cheng pulled Liu Chang aside, and the two exchanged a few low words.
“Master Liu, it’s not that I don’t trust you! This young lady looks so delicate and fragile, and she hasn’t been in this line of work as long as you have.”
“I think we should just drop this matter. I’ll look for someone else.”
After a moment, Boss Li regained his broad smile and approached Ying Yuwei with a polite but distant tone.
“Miss Ying... since you’ve come all this way, I’ll have these bodyguards accompany the master around for a bit. Whatever the master fancies, just tell me. When you’re tired, you can rest right here in my hotel.”
He then tried to pull Liu Chang away, saying, “Master Liu, come to my place for a visit.”
Li Cheng didn’t mention the issue of the ancestral grave’s broken tombstone at all. He clearly distrusted Ying Yuwei and had no intention of letting her get involved.
A faint displeasure flickered across Ying Yuwei’s delicate features. She had traveled so far to Hong Kong, yet they didn’t believe her at all. She shot Liu Chang a glance and shrugged slightly.
“Junior Uncle, there’s nothing I can do in this situation.” With that, she gestured to An Yu as she prepared to leave.
Seeing this, Liu Chang grew anxious. He had already witnessed Ying Yuwei’s abilities. As the sole heir of the Celestial Master sect, there was no one else he could think of who could solve this issue.
He quickly grabbed Ying Yuwei’s arm, his voice urgent and pleading. “Uncle, wait! Just give me one minute, one minute is enough!”
Liu Chang then pulled Boss Li aside and lavishly praised Ying Yuwei’s skills. Boss Li looked back at the young woman not far off, still harboring doubt in his eyes, but he was swayed by Liu Chang’s praise and nodded in the end.
After all, he had hired many masters this time. If Ying Yuwei didn’t work out, there were others. It wouldn’t cost him much to employ one more.
Boss Li approached Ying Yuwei. “Miss Ying, you can stay at my hotel tonight. Tomorrow, I’ll arrange for a driver to pick you up.”
With that, he hurriedly pulled Liu Chang away.
As Boss Li left, Ying Yuwei casually glanced at his feet.
Today, Boss Li wore a neatly tailored pair of black trousers. His legs twitched slightly as if something was moving. Upon closer inspection, she saw a small bulge pressing against his calf, moving upwards beneath the pant leg.
In a flash, a thought crossed Ying Yuwei’s mind.
She rushed over and grabbed Li Cheng, shouting, “Wait!”
Her voice rang out loudly, causing everyone in the lavish hotel lobby to stop and look over.
Li Cheng clearly disliked being the center of attention. Annoyed, he brushed off her hand and said impatiently, “Miss Ying, if you have something to say, just contact my secretary.”
The bodyguards immediately surrounded them. Seeing the tension, An Yu quickly pulled Ying Yuwei behind himself, facing off against Li Cheng’s burly guards.
Ying Yuwei tapped An Yu’s arm, stepped out from behind him, and sneered coldly.
“Boss Li, once you step through that door, you might never have descendants again.”
Everyone was baffled by Ying Yuwei’s words.
Li Cheng found it amusing and didn’t take her seriously. He chuckled lightly.
“Miss Ying, the only reason you’re still standing here is out of respect for Master Liu. Feng Shui and physiognomy require real skill; you can’t just throw out empty threats and expect to be called a master.”
Liu Chang cleared his throat and walked toward Ying Yuwei. “Uncle, you can tell just like that?”
Liu Chang was utterly confused by her conclusion. Li Cheng was just over thirty, and though he hadn’t had children yet, countless women in Hong Kong wanted to marry into the Li family and bear his children. He himself had several prospects. It was impossible for him to have no hope of descendants—unless he was the problem.
Liu Chang looked at Ying Yuwei in alarm and whispered, “Uncle, how do you know such a secret? You and Boss Li…”
He was immediately met with a heavy smack on the head from Ying Yuwei. She also understood the implication in Liu Chang’s words and replied with a tone tinged with frustration.
“I really don’t know what you’ve been learning all these years! You don’t even know the simplest corpse moth. You’re a disgrace to the Sanhe sect!”
Corpse moths are parasitic larvae that emerge with corpse transformation. They burrow into the human body to feed on vital energy, and when they grow large enough, they break free from the host’s body.
Liu Chang, being scolded, dared not argue. After all, their branch only had part of the Celestial Master sect’s scriptures, so ignorance was understandable.
Boss Li had also heard Ying Yuwei’s words. He pushed aside his bodyguards and stepped forward. “Corpse moth? What corpse moth?”
As he leaned in, the gleam from his diamond-studded watch flashed briefly in Ying Yuwei’s eyes, reminding her awkwardly that she still owed a thousand yuan to a charity.
“Good heavens, a tycoon! Young man, your wealth has saved your life.”
“Boss Li, your vigor seems to be fading lately!” Ying Yuwei said sharply.
At once, Li Cheng’s expression changed dramatically, as if someone had grabbed his life force. His eyes widened, and he retorted loudly but with diminished confidence, “Don’t talk nonsense!”
Then, employing a tactical cough, Li Cheng gestured for his guards to stand back. He lowered his voice as he leaned toward Ying Yuwei. “Master Ying, how do you figure that?”
Seeing Li Cheng lean forward, An Yu’s expression grew impatient. Silently, he placed his arm between them to prevent Li Cheng from touching Ying Yuwei.
Ying Yuwei pointed at Li Cheng’s thigh. “Feel the inside of your thigh. Is there a small lump?”
Following her instructions, Li Cheng reached down to feel the area. Indeed, there was a small bulge, warmer than the surrounding skin, and it seemed to wriggle slightly under his touch.
From the moment Li Cheng touched his inner thigh, An Yu had already positioned himself in front of Ying Yuwei, feeling this scene was not suitable for a young lady to witness.
“Ah!” Boss Li exclaimed in surprise.
Ying Yuwei stepped out from behind An Yu, speaking slowly and deliberately.
“This thing inside your thigh is a corpse moth. Corpse moths love to feed on a person’s yang energy. For men, the corpse moth particularly favors…”
She paused, looking at Li Cheng with an inscrutable gaze before continuing.
“That’s why you’ve been feeling weak lately. It has already burrowed into the inside of your thigh. Soon—perhaps even tonight—it will fully emerge…”
“Enough, Master Ying, you don’t need to say more.” Boss Li clutched his lower abdomen, his voice tinged with panic.
The men present, hearing Ying Yuwei’s words, instinctively raised their hands to shield their own lower abdomens, silently guarding themselves.
