"For the glory of the Kingdom!!"

"Kill! Kill! Kill!!"

With the arrival of Wellen's army on the battlefield, the situation reversed in an instant. Those thirty thousand cavalrymen pierced into the Allied forces' positions like a sharp blade, leaving the Allied forces with no room to counter.

The Allied forces had initially possessed high morale due to their numerical advantage, but this sudden influx of eighty thousand troops completely shattered them, leading to localized collapses in the blink of an eye. Even with Peter Manchester personally commanding the front lines, he could hardly stem the spread of this defeatist sentiment.

"They actually had reinforcements?" someone reported in disbelief within the Iron Curtain Guild's chat channel. "Guild Leader? What should we do now?"

Mist Scythe, gripping his blade-staff, casually cleaved an extraordinary knight and his horse in two. Hearing the question, he cast a cold, indifferent gaze toward Wellen Carlisle in the distance. If this battle had resulted in victory, Mist Scythe and his team would have successfully secured a massive amount of contribution points and completed their main quest: "Overthrow the Nora Kingdom."

But the arrival of Wellen's army had shattered their illusions. At this moment, Peter's order reached the various officers on the front lines, consisting of only four words:

"Fight to the death. No retreat."

"Sir, are you sure you want to go to the very front?" a soldier asked his commander in one of the Allied sectors.

The officer from the Freedom Commune smiled at this. "For the future of the Commune, if someone must sacrifice themselves, why shouldn't it be me?"

The officer took a deep breath, handed his last will and testament to the logistics staff, and rushed to the front line without hesitation. As more and more high-ranking officers appeared on the front, the Allied forces entered a strange state—they appeared to be on the verge of collapse, yet they did not fully break.

Even Wellen was surprised; he had not expected Peter to actually dare to fight him to the bitter end.

"I am curious, where did you bring so many soldiers from? And how did you manage to do it without anyone noticing?" Mo Xuanyu stood beside Wellen, taking the handkerchief handed to him by Mo Xiao to wipe the blood from his cheek.

Wellen pondered for a moment. "These eighty thousand were secretly trained since last spring under the orders of the Sun King."

"Do you know why the Sun King had His Highness Eric inspect all the major cities back then?"

"Uh-huh, so why was it?" Mo Xuanyu sat on a chair brought by his guards, his expression languid as he rested his chin on his hand. He no longer needed to intervene in the fighting.

"The Sun King actually hoped to use this army to intimidate His Highness Eric and extinguish any thoughts of rebellion. As for the result... you know how it went." Wellen shrugged helplessly. "His Highness Eric didn't conduct a thorough inspection; otherwise, he would have certainly discovered the existence of this army."

Mo Xuanyu smiled helplessly. "If I had known you were this hidden card, I wouldn't have worried for so long, fretting that His Majesty might blame me."

"I believe His Majesty understands your difficulties. After all, no one could have predicted that General Carmen would suffer such heavy losses," Wellen said solemnly. His personality was more rigorous than Carmen's, making him a great general well-suited for holding the rear.

But unfortunately, even Wellen had not seen through the true intentions of the Sun King. Mo Xuanyu glanced at him with deep eyes, feeling that the man before him did not have long to live.

As time ticked away, Mo Xuanyu noticed Mist Scythe wreaking havoc on the nearby battlefield. Having rested sufficiently, he rose from his chair, lifted the Nightmare Moon Blade, and prepared to meet his adversary.

However, a notification from the Sacred Geometry interrupted his progress.

[Camp Quest: The Siege of the Major City has concluded. Contribution points have been distributed.]

[You have received 3,000 camp contribution points. Current total: 3,001 points.]

A second before the Sacred Geometry notification, Peter had ultimately chosen to order a retreat. There was no longer any hope of capturing the major city of Moon God River. Honestly, Peter felt deep resentment, but he could not watch all the resistance soldiers die here; it would be meaningless. He needed to preserve the seeds of hope for the Commune.

Peter mounted his horse. Before leaving, his gaze crossed over countless corpses and landed on Mo Xuanyu, who stood atop the walls of Moon God River.

"Mora, you are our last hope," he whispered.

With the retreat of the Allied forces, their autumn offensive plan was declared a failure.

"What do we do, Guild Leader? Our gains in this world are too low! I'm afraid we won't be able to finish the main quest," the members of the Iron Curtain Guild gathered around Mist Scythe during the retreat.

Compared to their frustration, the silver-haired, red-eyed Mist Scythe remained composed. His eyes, hidden behind a gas mask, were cold and calm. He spoke in a flat tone, "Who told you the main quest failed? The Sacred Geometry?"

"Huh?" The team members were stunned, only then realizing that the Sacred Geometry hadn't announced their main quest as failed; it was still marked as "In Progress."

"Could it be that Peter still has a trump card?" they asked in disbelief.

Mist Scythe looked at Peter's retreating back. "That man is meticulous to a fault. It's impossible that he wouldn't have a backup plan—or even several."

On the walls of Moon God River:

"Commander Wellen, Commander Mora, should we pursue?" an officer asked.

Mo Xuanyu raised his eyes and looked at Wellen's back. Wellen shook his head. "War is not simply about chasing or running. Under harsh conditions and the pressure of life and death, the Allied forces can unleash terrifying combat power. If we pursue them blindly, we will only do more harm than good."

Mo Xuanyu slowly withdrew his gaze. It seemed Wellen's strategic vision was also excellent; it was no wonder the Sun King had entrusted him with such a heavy responsibility.

After the battle, the Kingdom's God-Chosen celebrated with fervent cheers. The rewards for a desperate comeback were far more exhilarating than those from a one-sided slaughter. Moreover, because the drop rate for treasure chests on the battlefield had been doubled, the surviving God-Chosen had essentially made a small fortune, opening chests until their hands were sore.

Mo Xuanyu had also received many chests, but given his current four-dimensional attributes, he no longer cared much for white or green-quality equipment. He planned to save these chests, sell them in bulk when the opportunity arose, and then use the proceeds to acquire blue chests or blue-quality gear.

"Lord Mora, a secret order from the Sun King!"

A messenger arrived before Mo Xuanyu, knelt on one knee to hand him a letter, and then vanished into the crowd.

"I'm going to reorganize the troops." Seeing this, Wellen chose to turn and leave with great discretion. Since the secret order was given to Mo Xuanyu by the Sun King alone, he should not indulge in unnecessary curiosity.

Mo Xuanyu opened the envelope. The handwriting inside was as arrogant and sharp as ever:

"Mora, do you remember what I said before? I will let you witness the moment I break through the boundaries and become the God of the New World."

"Come to the Holy See to see me. I am waiting for you there."

The Moon God River battle had only just ended, and the Sun King was already impatient to summon Mo Xuanyu back to the Royal Capital, leaving Mo Xuanyu unsure of his intentions.

Clearly, the Sun King's summoning of Mo Xuanyu back to the capital was an excellent opportunity—so good that the Sacred Geometry had changed his quest guidance directly. One had to realize that the Royal Capital's guards and knight orders had all been relocated to the Moon God River city; the capital now had at most a thousand ordinary garrison troops.

To the current Mo Xuanyu, these guards were as good as non-existent. If he didn't strike now, when would he?

"Is His Majesty calling you back to the capital? I understand," Wellen said, nodding slightly upon hearing the news. "I will guard the Moon God River line for His Majesty."

He was, in truth, a little worried about the Sun King's safety. But the Sun King had always been an extremely arrogant man who said what he meant, and his strength was at the pinnacle of the world, so Wellen did not dwell on it.

The sun gradually set in the west. Mo Xuanyu and Mo Xiao each mounted a warhorse, leaving the major city and rushing toward the Royal Capital at full speed. Swiftness is the essence of war; he wanted to kill the Sun King before he could truly break through the extraordinary boundary, which would improve his chances of success.

A gust of wind blew the black hair beside Mo Xuanyu's ears. He picked up the cross pendant on his chest and looked at it; the shield had only one use remaining, and he had to time its use carefully.

Just as Mo Xuanyu and his companion left the city, Peter also made his final strategic deployment. The members of the Iron Curtain Guild received a secret mission from Peter and successfully infiltrated the major city while the Kingdom's army was relaxed after their victory.

At this moment, Wellen had just finished an officers' meeting at the City Hall and had boarded his carriage, preparing to return to his residence. Suddenly, a faint sound of footsteps on the roof caught his attention.

He immediately signaled the soldiers to stop the carriage, then stepped down and drew his long spear.

"Come out. Why be so sneaky?" Wellen's voice was cold. As the former strongest member of the Knights, he had only ever been defeated by Carmen.

Six figures dropped down in front of Wellen's carriage. The leading man had short silver-gray hair, deep red pupils, and wore a dual-filter gas mask that obscured the lower half of his face.

"I remember you." Wellen recognized the man at a glance. He had slaughtered many of the Kingdom's soldiers on the battlefield and had been listed as an ultra-dangerous individual.

"Sorry, Mr. Wellen, we are just under orders to kill you." Mist Scythe's tone was flat. He drew his blade-staff from his inventory, and his teammates followed suit, drawing their own weapons.

Wellen patted the shoulder of the soldier blocking his path. "Run along. You are no match for them."

He gripped his long spear and stood proudly, showing no fear toward Mist Scythe and the others.

"Attack! The Knights will receive word soon; we only have ten minutes." Mist Scythe spoke, swinging his blade-staff toward Wellen first.

The battle between the two sides erupted instantly. Wellen fought six enemies at once, and for a time, he did not fall behind.
