It was simply outrageous.

In the car, Ye Qiu was still complaining.

“Big Sis, aren’t you afraid that doing this will make Second Sis angry?”

Recalling the scenes from their childhood when Second Sis lost her temper, Ye Qiu instinctively shrank his neck.

If Second Sis really got angry, he’d just let Big Sis take the blame.

“What’s there to be afraid of?” Liu Yiran snorted lightly. “Look at how timid you are.”

Yet as she spoke, she seemed to shiver a little herself.

But since she’d already said what she did, she couldn’t just sit back and eat her words. Liu Yiran wasn’t one to lose face.

...

“Hello, welcome to Guangxiu Aesthetic Clinic. Which one of you lovely clients wants to become even more beautiful? If you have any procedures in mind, I can provide a consultation.”

A consultant, heavily made up and clad in a form-fitting dress, walked over enthusiastically. She gave the two of them a quick once-over, her gaze finally settling on Ye Qiu.

Although Liu Yiran was dressed casually, the consultant could tell at a glance that her outfit cost at least a hundred thousand. Ye Qiu, on the other hand, with his effeminate demeanor and bargain-bin clothes, was clearly someone who lived off others.

Most of the men who came to cosmetic clinics were like this—sometimes even more effeminate than the women, never satisfied with their looks, always wanting adjustments.

“No need. I’m here to see Dr. Xiao.”

The consultant was momentarily stunned, then leaned in toward Ye Qiu and whispered, “Handsome, Dr. Xiao can’t handle the major procedures. Professor Duan is better—he’s trained in plastic surgery in Korea, and his skills are top-notch, not just in this country but across the whole field.”

She got so excited she even gave a thumbs-up.

Ye Qiu shot her a sidelong glance and said coolly, “Didn’t you hear me? I want to see Dr. Xiao.”

The consultant clearly wasn’t giving up yet. She lowered her voice further. “What procedure are you planning to get, handsome?”

Originally, Ye Qiu thought the consultant was just trying to push more clients to Professor Duan for a bigger commission—after all, the perks in this line of work were substantial.

But watching her words and demeanor, there was something off. He maintained his composure. “I want my nose bridge raised a bit.”

The consultant gave Ye Qiu a careful look. “Sir, we have professional imaging technology here. We can show you exactly how much to adjust for the golden proportions. How about I have Professor Duan use our equipment to make you a simulation first?”

As she spoke, she glanced around warily and lowered her voice even more. “Handsome, let me tell you—although all our ads online feature every doctor, Dr. Xiao’s character is really questionable. She’s been selling clients’ information, especially the wealthy and the socialites, to people with bad intentions.”

Liu Yiran cut in coldly, “Then why not report her to the police?”

“Because Dr. Xiao is close with the boss.” The consultant clicked her tongue and sighed. “Miss, we’re just employees. We can’t be the ones to cause trouble. Trust Professor Duan—you won’t regret it. If I were like other consultants, I’d just say whatever to earn money off whoever, right?”

Her expressions and words all but suggested that Xiao Yuru had an improper relationship with the boss.

Honestly, most people would have found her persuasive and sincere.

Ye Qiu said flatly, “That’s unnecessary. Just tell me where Dr. Xiao’s office is. I’ll find her myself.”

“You’re really something else.” The consultant finally lost her patience, pointing down the hallway. “Third office from the end. If anything goes wrong, don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

“Let’s go, little brother.”

Liu Yiran shot the consultant another glance, memorizing her face, then followed Ye Qiu down the hallway.

The eight siblings had been as close as family since childhood. For this consultant to slander Xiao Yuru right in front of Ye Qiu and Liu Yiran made Ye Qiu’s blood boil. If not for Liu Yiran’s warning glance, Ye Qiu would’ve exploded right then and there.

“What a lousy hospital—what a mess.”

Ye Qiu resolved then and there to help Second Sis open her own cosmetic surgery clinic.

“Ask Second Sis first,” Liu Yiran said calmly. “People like that aren’t worth your time—it’s just a word, nothing more.”

Ye Qiu nodded.

They had just reached the office door when they overheard the tense voices of a man and a woman inside.

“Yuru, think carefully. Last time you used ear cartilage for a client’s nose job and it went wrong. The client’s been complaining nonstop and threatening to report you to the health bureau. The boss is having a headache over it too. Hardly anyone can fix this kind of botched surgery. Honestly, in the entire Linhai aesthetics industry, only I can handle such corrective procedures. If you agree, I’ll arrange the surgery right away.”

The man paused and then continued, “Besides, haven’t you always wanted to learn breast augmentation and more advanced aesthetic techniques? Work as my assistant for two years, and I’ll teach you everything I know.”

“Professor, even people who hire escorts know they have to pay. Not only do you want to use me for free, you expect me to be your unpaid assistant? You’re disgusting beyond words. Get out, or you’ll find out what it feels like to be punched by a fist as big as a sandbag.”

“Hmph, you don’t know what’s good for you. You don’t even have a caseload now. Sooner or later, the boss will fire you.”

Professor Duan stormed out, only to be startled by the sight of a man and a woman at the door. Once he got a good look at the woman, he was momentarily dazed.

She was stunning—her body proportions were flawless.

What’s more, she had an air about her, untouched by the mundane world.

Professor Duan frowned slightly, his eyes drifting toward the reception.

He seemed to be blaming the front desk consultant for not handling things properly.

Why hadn’t they intercepted such a beauty and sent her to him? He’d have done the procedure for free, let alone at a discount.

Just as Professor Duan was about to speak, Xiao Yuru walked over, delighted. “Sis, what brings you here?”

“I came to check on you and, by the way, to introduce you to a client,” Liu Yiran said, casting Professor Duan a glance. This old man was at least in his fifties and still dared to make a move on her second sister.

“Come in, quickly.”

Xiao Yuru warmly ushered the two of them in.

Outside, Professor Duan stood there dumbfounded for a long moment, then hurried off toward the front desk.

He’d thought “Sis” was just a polite form of address.

“Dongdong, what’s wrong with you? Why did those two end up in Xiao Yuru’s office? Do you still want to do surgeries in the future?”

Professor Duan launched into a tirade.

Employees had internal discounts, so some girls worked as consultants to earn money and spent it right back at the clinic.

Xu Dongdong felt wronged. “They specifically asked for Dr. Xiao. I couldn’t do anything about it.”

As she spoke, she glanced toward Professor Duan’s office and, putting on a coy voice, said, “Professor, maybe we should discuss this in your office? I can explain everything properly, if that’s okay with you.”
