Chapter 119: Here to Assist You!
A cool breeze swept across mountains and rivers, arriving at a vast plain, where it transformed into the Sword Saint, his white robes fluttering, and Ji Xiaoxiong, who stood with his head bowed.
The Sword Saint smiled arrogantly. "You truly haven't recovered from your hidden wounds; otherwise, you wouldn't have been dragged here so easily."
Ji Xiaoxiong murmured, "Is that so?"
The Sword Saint rubbed his hands together in excitement. "You used to be the one beating me up, but now I’ve finally caught you. Don't worry, I won't be too rough—just enough to keep you bedridden for half a year."
"I see..." Ji Xiaoxiong glanced toward the direction of the capital, a flicker of purple light appearing in his eyes. He muttered to himself, "It seems I can't go back. I have no choice but to fight you."
Deep within his pupils, the purple light flashed in a fit of pique before fading away.
"Then let us fight! My great sword has been starving for this!" the Sword Saint laughed heartily.
Ji Xiaoxiong turned abruptly, rubbing his sandbag-sized fists together. He bared his teeth in a grin that didn't reach his eyes. "That’s perfect, because I’m in a foul mood today as well."
"Don't worry, I won't be too rough—just enough to keep you bedridden for half a year."
...
Meanwhile, Master Wen was still whimpering in the woodshed. The ropes binding him were pulled so tight that he simply could not undo them.
Outside the wooden door, there were now over a dozen living dead. Their hands, oozing with pus, squeezed through the cracks in the wood, clawing at him.
In this short time, Master Wen was on the verge of tears. He never imagined that after a lifetime of skulking about and avoiding disasters, he would ultimately be sabotaged by his own master.
Fortunately, the iron chain was sturdy. He watched as several of the living dead tried to bite through it with their teeth, only to have their teeth shattered and fall out instead.
Unfortunately, he could already hear the wooden door creaking and groaning; it likely wouldn't hold much longer.
Just as he fell into despair, the living dead at the door seemed to have discovered something. They howled and charged into the distance, leaving the area entirely within moments.
Then came the sound of sharp blades piercing flesh.
"Master Wen? Master Wen, are you in there?"
A face suddenly appeared at the gap in the door—it was Li Zhi.
"Wuwuwu!" Master Wen cried out urgently.
Li Zhi’s eyes lit up. With the sound of clashing metal, the iron chain was instantly severed. He was covered in filth and blood himself, but his spirit remained high, and he held a large saber in his hand.
"Master Wen, why are you here?" Li Zhi quickly removed the rag from Master Wen’s mouth and began untying the ropes.
"Don't mention it. What is the situation outside?" Master Wen asked quickly.
"My father has passed. After I regained my memories, I discovered that the living dead had gone mad, biting everyone they saw. I didn't know what to do, and since you were a close friend of my father, I thought I would come to ask you," Li Zhi explained.
Master Wen’s expression darkened; he had already anticipated this. Only the Imperial Preceptor could invoke a Prayer to Heaven of this magnitude.
"Help me untie these first," Master Wen said, his mind racing as he continued to prattle on. "This is a tortoise-shell binding; it’s hard to undo without professional technique. Why don't you just cut them with your saber?"
Before the words had even faded, the ropes on his body fell away.
Master Wen: "..."
Li Zhi scratched his head, looking embarrassed. "I once read about the method for untying a tortoise-shell bind in a street novel, and I suppose I accidentally memorized it."
*Your technique is far too practiced for that...* Master Wen thought, giving him a strange look.
...
Ji Junhong watched the breeze fly away. He stood up in silence, picked up the Human Emperor Sword, and walked onto the main street.
He strolled through the streets filled with living corpses as if he were taking a leisurely walk in a garden. His long robes emitted a faint golden glow, and the Human Emperor Sword likewise radiated golden light, humming with excitement.
"When Heaven sends forth its killing intent, the stars shift and the constellations change."
Ji Junhong whispered. The dark clouds above him suddenly dispersed, revealing brilliant starlight that seemed to flicker and shift as he moved.
"When the Earth sends forth its killing intent, dragons and snakes rise from the land."
In the imperial palace, a pair of golden eyes suddenly snapped open. The gaze pierced through countless obstacles and landed on Ji Junhong, who held the Human Emperor Sword.
Immediately following this, a desolate roar echoed from the palace.
Upon hearing the sound, the living dead raised their heads and charged toward Ji Junhong, regardless of anything else.
Ji Junhong smiled at the corners of his eyes. He did not stop walking, and faint wisps of golden energy began to manifest around his body.
If one looked closely, they could see these were tiny golden dragons.
Five-clawed golden dragons.
The overwhelming sea of living corpses rushed forward, only to be torn to shreds by these golden dragons; they could not even get within three yards of Ji Junhong.
He continued at a measured pace, slowly chanting the third line:
"When Man sends forth his killing intent, Heaven and Earth are turned upside down."
At the city walls, countless soldiers of the Flying Bear Army transformed into massive, blood-red bears, carrying heavy siege hammers and slamming them repeatedly against the gates.
High-ranking soldiers of the Flying Bear Army didn't even use siege ladders; relying on their brute strength, they smashed massive pits into the city walls and climbed them by stepping into the holes.
If one fell from mid-air, another soldier would simply step into the previously created holes, continuing to smash and climb.
It looked as though countless fierce, bloodthirsty monsters were scaling the precarious walls of humanity.
It was an act of pure, savage wilderness.
The demon soldiers fired sharp arrows and hurled heavy boulders down from above.
The entire battlefield was barbaric and bloody.
As the final line was uttered, the aura surrounding Ji Junhong surged, passing through a barrier without resistance and reaching a realm that was mysterious and profound.
The first person to reach this realm did not know its name; they only knew that it existed—it had always existed, right there.
Thus, this realm was called the Grandmaster, the Oneness of Heaven and Man.
Endless waves of living dead surged toward Ji Junhong. Looking down the street, one could see an unending sea of them.
Ji Junhong reached out his right hand, preparing to unsheathe the Human Emperor Sword.
*Shing!*
From the eaves of a nearby house, a bright red sword aura suddenly shot forth. A single strike cut across a hundred paces, causing the living dead along the path to collapse, their bodies and heads severed.
Dozens of figures in black robes descended from the rooftops, landing around Ji Junhong and charging toward the living dead.
The tall, thin man leading them held a bright red longsword and bowed.
"Kun-er of the Earthly Fiend Unit of the Universe Sect, acting under the Sect Master's orders to assist the Eldest Young Master!"
His voice was cold, and every word made one feel as if they were submerged in blood.
Ji Junhong withdrew his hand, his eyes flashing as if he understood something. He nodded with a smile. "Then, I shall leave it to you."
"It is no trouble."
Kun-er replied, then turned and charged into the fray. As he swung his longsword, each strike unleashed a sword aura like a sea of blood.
*Killing Heart Sword Art...* Ji Junhong recognized the technique they were using. He swept his gaze over the black-robed figures and realized they were all using the same style.
Finally, his gaze returned to Kun-er. The young man didn't care about anything else, burying his head in the slaughter, his movements clean and decisive, never looking back.
*He seems to be a shy and introverted young man...* Ji Junhong mused to himself.
"Hahahaha! I shall also come to assist the Eldest Young Master!"
From the darkness, a bald, burly man suddenly lunged out, wielding a long staff. With every strike, he smashed the living dead to pieces.
"And me!"
"I am here to help as well!"
"How could such a grand event proceed without me!"
"I was just curious and followed the living dead here, I never expected to encounter such a thing!"
Figure after figure emerged from all directions—all of them martial artists covered in wrinkled clothes or dried blood.
It was clear that they, too, had gone through great tribulations to arrive here.
Ji Junhong’s lips curled slightly, golden light flickering in his eyes as he whispered:
"Little monster, do you see? This is the human race."
